Flowers Blooming in the Garden June 24th

This was the only rose that I moved when we changed houses. Where we lived before the ground was a nice loam. Here it is sandy. I only moved one, because we had black spot there so bad. I've decided that roses must like sandy ground. Now I wish we would have moved more of them.

This is a photo of our smoke bush. The shrub is only a couple years old and grew fast.

The coral bells that I purchased last year are putting on nice bloom this year.

The coreopsis have been blooming for awhile. They like to put on a nice show.

Asiatic Lilies Blooming June 24th

The Asiatic lilies are putting on a good show right now. Here are a few photos of them. Everything is a couple of weeks late this year since the winter just didn't want to end.

The yellow ones I purchased last year in a little pot that was marked down. They are called Bumblebee. I can't believe how many blooms it has put on.

This was my perennial garden on the hill in June several years ago. It has changed as I've moved different things and started new beds. Since it is shady, I have a lot of Asiatic lilies and hostas back there. I've slowly been moving my daylilies to the new beds since they don't get enough sun back there. I hope you enjoy the photo.

More photos will be coming soon. Right now I am so busy mulching, moving plants and weeding that I don't have time for much else. It went from being in the 40's here to 80 with high humidity. Most of the plants need to be divided too. I think I'll have a garage sale this summer and sell some. The lilacs are blooming here with their wonderful fragrance. In normal years, they are blooming on Mother's Day, but everything is late this year. Lilies of the Valley are starting and the Vinca has been blooming. Everything smells so good. We've had a wonderful spring for rain. The rain pours down almost everyday, but it is making the mosquitoes buzz. I am about covered by bites. I hate using the repellent, because of the chemicals, but I am going to give in and use it. I hope this finds you all happy and busy gardening. Now that we have about 8" of snow on the ground, I been thinking about gardening. I know that is crazy, but I started looking at the new gardening products. Maybe I should ask for some of these for Christmas.

I found this need gardening tote by Friskars. They are the ones that make the nice scissors for sewing. I know they make a quality product, so I think I'd like one of these. Right now I use a basket.
